Beginning support can feel both meaningful and vulnerable, and I appreciate the trust involved in reaching out during an important season of life.
This page is designed to help you understand what to expect next and how to prepare for your initial appointment.
Appointment Confirmation
I will personally reach out to confirm your appointment details and provide any additional information needed prior to our session.
If your appointment is virtual, you will receive a secure Zoom link before the scheduled meeting time.
For local in-person appointments, practice location details will be shared directly with confirmed clients prior to the session.
Client Portal Access
Clients are welcome to explore the client portal prior to the first appointment. Within the portal, you will be able to access:
- practice documents
- consent and service agreements
- privacy policies
- scheduling information
- invoices and receipts
- additional client resources
The portal is intended to help the process feel organized, simple, and accessible.
Consent for Services Document
You are welcome to begin reviewing the Consent for Services document found within the client portal prior to your appointment.
Clients will not formally sign consent documents until the date of the initial service appointment so there is time to review materials thoughtfully and ask any questions that may arise beforehand.
Brief Intake Questionnaire
Prior to the initial appointment, I will send a short intake questionnaire to help me better understand your current experiences, goals, and the kinds of support you may be seeking.
If possible, please complete the questionnaire before the first session. This helps create a smoother and more grounded beginning to our work together.
There is no expectation to have perfect answers or explain everything fully. The questionnaire simply offers a starting point for understanding your current season of life and what support may feel most helpful.
Helpful Resources Before Your First Session
Some clients find it supportive to review the Questions & Answers section under the Resources area of the website before beginning. This section includes information about:
- somatic work
- nervous system support
- session structure
- payments and policies
- virtual and in-person sessions
- communication and scheduling
- common questions about the practice
You are welcome to review as much or as little as feels helpful.
Preparing for Your Session
There is no need to prepare perfectly for your first session.
You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
Some clients prefer to reflect beforehand on what has been feeling most emotionally heavy, overwhelming, stressful, or important recently. Others arrive simply knowing they need support and space to slow down.
If your session is virtual, it may help to:
- choose a quiet and private space if possible
- use headphones if helpful
- minimize interruptions
- have water, tea, or grounding items nearby
- allow yourself a few minutes before and after the session to settle
The goal is not performance or productivity. The goal is creating space for support, connection, and greater steadiness.
Questions or Scheduling Support?
If questions arise before your appointment, you are welcome to reach out.
Phone and email communication are primarily used for scheduling, logistical questions, records requests, and practice-related communication.
If you are experiencing an emergency or mental health crisis, please contact local emergency or crisis support services in your area.
A Gentle Reminder
Beginning support does not require having everything figured out.
Often, the first step is simply allowing yourself to stop carrying difficult things entirely alone.
I look forward to meeting you.
